Wayne Chen

Wayne Chen

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation. He focuses on the acquisition and financing of regulated utility, power generation and transportation assets. In 2006, Wayne joined Babcock & Brown's origination group. Prior to 2006, he worked at Barclays Capital in the energy investment banking group. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.

Mark Christensen

Mark Christensen

has served as a Risk Manager at SteelRiver since its formation. He works with SteelRiver's management, limited partners, and portfolio companies to identify, assess, manage, and report on the risks faced by SteelRiver's funds and investments. Mark joined Babcock & Brown in 2007 where he was the risk manager for the North American infrastructure business. Prior to Babcock & Brown, he worked at JP Morgan Chase in the investment banking group, where he held various risk and process management related positions. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University.

Jay Elwell

Jay Elwell, CPA

joined SteelRiver in 2010 as Chief Accounting Officer. Before joining SteelRiver he was the Director of Finance for one of the world's largest private foundations. Jay has also held senior positions at two private equity firms and started his career at Ernst & Young where he worked in their financial services group. Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.

Jason Francl

Jason Francl

has been responsible for Tax at SteelRiver since its formation. He works with fund investors and portfolio companies to efficiently structure investments and manages tax compliance. In 2007, Jason joined Babcock & Brown as the Tax Director for Babcock & Brown's North American managed funds. Prior to 2007, Jason was a Partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP where he focused on inbound and outbound tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, and partnership transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.

David Harvey

David Harvey

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation. He focuses on the financial, accounting, tax, insurance and regulatory aspects of transactions. David joined Babcock & Brown's origination group in 1997. Prior to Babcock & Brown, he worked at Electronic Data Systems in the equipment financing group and at Sparkman Energy Corporation, a diversified oil and gas production and gas transmission company, in the corporate finance group. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Accounting degrees from Rice University.

Vittorio Lacagnina

Vittorio Lacagnina

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation with responsibility for co-investment and investor origination. In 2008, he joined Babcock & Brown's origination group in a similar role. Prior to 2008, Vittorio was a Managing Director at DEPFA Bank in the infrastructure finance group and Chief Operating Officer of global origination. Previously, Vittorio worked in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York and London, with coverage across Latin America and Southern Europe and involvement in M&A advisory, corporate finance and principal investment. Vittorio holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from the European Business School, London.

Christopher Lowe

Christopher Lowe

is Chief Investment Officer of SteelRiver. Chris has responsibility for portfolio management, portfolio company investment analysis, and management of debt offerings and debt relationships for SteelRiver and its portfolio companies. He joins SteelRiver from Noble Environmental Power, a US wind energy company, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for all strategic and financial activities of the company. Prior to Noble Environmental Power, Chris was Head of the Americas Resources & Energy Group at HSBC Securities in New York, managing both the investment and corporate banking business in power & utilities, oil & gas and mining & metals. Chris, who has 22 years of experience in managing and financing infrastructure investments, commenced his career in Global Power and Project Finance at JP Morgan Securities (formerly Chase Securities) in London. Chris holds an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University in the UK and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Warren Luhning

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation. He focuses on the acquisition and financing of transportation, power generation and regulated utility assets. In 2006, he joined Babcock & Brown's origination group. Prior to 2006, he worked at Wells Fargo in the real estate merchant banking group and RBC Capital Markets in the currency derivatives group. Previously, he played professional hockey in the National Hockey League. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management.

John McGuire

John McGuire

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation. He focuses on acquisitions and financing of energy and gas transmission and distribution and marine port assets. In 2006, he joined Babcock & Brown in a similar role. Prior to 2006, he worked at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Previously, John was a Research Associate at Harvard Business School, and he also clerked for now-Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Economics from Tufts University and a Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.

David McSweeney

David Mc Sweeney

joined SteelRiver as an Investment Specialist in 2012. His focus is primarily on acquisitions in the regulated energy space. David has over 20 years experience in investment banking in the energy sector. Prior to joining SteelRiver, David was a Managing Director in the Energy and Power groups of both Chase and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Recently, David has worked as an independent financial consultant. In addition, David was the Republican nominee for Congress in Illinois' 8th District in 2006 and, in March 2012, won the Republican Primary for the 52nd Illinois House of Representatives District. David is a graduate of Duke University and the Duke Fuqua school of Business.

has served as an Investment Specialist at SteelRiver since its formation. She focuses on the acquisition and financing of regulated utility and transportation assets, with a particular emphasis on debt structuring. In 2007, Janice joined Babcock & Brown's origination group. Prior to 2007, she worked at Barclays Capital in the energy investment banking group. Janice earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Operations Research at Columbia University.

Kenneth Pereira

Kenneth Pereira, CPA

has served as the Chief Financial Officer at SteelRiver since its formation. In 2007, he joined Babcock & Brown as Chief Financial Officer of SRIFNA I. Prior to 2007, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Saints Venture Capital, De Novo Ventures, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, and American Industrial Partners, and as a CPA at Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University at Hayward and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
